The Instructional and Student Services Division of the Dept. of Post-Secondary Education is responsible for ensuring the quality of instruction within The College System through long-range planning, curriculum design, program approval, and professional growth and development. The division serves as the liaison between the college system and the Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE), which is authorized to ensure the creation and maintenance of an educational system that will provide the highest possible quality of collegiate and university education to all people in the state (Ala. Acts, No. 79-461 [1979]). This series consists of administrative correspondence between ACHE and the department documenting the flow of information between The College System, the Department of Post-Secondary Education and ACHE. Typical records in this series include new academic program proposals; accreditation information; copies of surveys, such as the Wiregrass Study and the Allied Health Study conducted within The College System; unified budget recommendation information, planning position papers, roundtable forums, requests to offer nursing assistant/home health aide programs; curriculum vitae of faculty; requests to offer off campus emergency medical technician training; and general correspondence.
